Jerome Goes To Vote On The Jail...Again

By Brittany Cooper

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Tuesday marks a big day for Jerome voters.

That's because for the fifth time, voters will decide whether or not to build a new jail. But, now taxpayers have some hard and fast numbers to decide with.

Currently 15 prisoners for Jerome are being housed in other counties and that cost $60 a day.

Last year, that added up to almost $224,000 in out–of–county jail costs.

The bond will cost $2.09 a month for every $100,000 of property value.
