Jerome Library Director Steps Down

By Jay Michaels

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) After working in libraries for more than 40 years, the director of the Jerome Public Library is retiring.

Patty Metcalf began her career in the Boise State University library when she was a student there. She explains it felt like the right place to be, and it became her "true calling."

Metcalf has worked in libraries in Washington state and Tennessee, as well.

Outgoing Library Director Patty Metcalf says, "I will remain in Jerome for a period of time until I sell my house. Then I'm planning to move to Boise. I have grandchildren in Nampa, and would like to be close by. So being grandma is really important to me."

Metcalf has worked in public and college libraries, as well as corporate law libraries. She will always love books and learning, and hopes to eventually live on the Oregon coast.
