Jerome Public Library Brings Little Library To The Park

By KMVT News

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Jerome Public Library has a new summer program for children.

Each week they will hold a little library at the park.

Children who attend will receive a free lunch, along with story time.

Then they will be allowed to borrow books to read for the week.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries introduced the summer learning initiative last year.

The youth program specialist for the Jerome Library, Alison Morgan, explains the importance of the program.

"The summer slide program was designed to help prevent summer learning loss, which a lot of children go through during those summer months when they're not in school,” she says.

The little library events are held each Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. through August 29th.

It is located at South Park, 300 East Avenue A.
