Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Dozens are homeless following a massive fire in downtown Jerome Tuesday.

The Red Cross coming to their aid later that evening, providing shelter and other basic needs.

"The building is completely gone, so yeah, I think most of the families effected lost pretty much everything," said Weston McCarron, Red Cross.

Nearly two dozen people are being housed here at the Jerome County Fairgrounds, but more than twice that many have been displaced and are receiving help here.

"Well, this morning we served fifty-one meals and stuff like that along with the drinks and everything," said Maj. Eddie Patterson, Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army will continue to serve three meals a day for the victims as long as there's a need.

"Right now we're figuring on at least two days, maybe more if they can't find places to stay," said Patterson.
Local businesses are pitching in as well...

Walmart donating food and other items, Java in Twin Falls bringing hot coffee, and the Idaho National Guard giving pillows.

And, that's not including all of the individual donations.

"That's always really exciting to see when you have a disaster the generosity just comes pouring out. And it's more than we can keep up with,” said McCarron.

But, the Red Cross is still looking for help.

"The ways people can help the most is as always making cash donations to the Red Cross,” said McCarron.

Right now, every little bit helps as victims continue to pick up the pieces.

The Salvation Army is accepting food donations...

They just request that all of it is still packaged or prepared by a licensed cook.

Also, the Red Cross is looking for volunteers in our region.
