Jerome Seeking Jail Bond For 5th Time
Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) Jerome County officials are hoping the fifth time will be the charm for a new jail.
On Tuesday, the commissioners voted for another jail bond. They went over their figures again with the consultant and they say they have no other choice. Jerome voters narrowly defeated a proposal to build a jail in 2012, but officials are hoping to see a turn around this year. "We spent over $69,000 in the last three months in out–of–county prisoners and we just can't keep doing that and we are mandated to do a jail so we'll just go back and try it again," adds Charles Howell, Jerome County Commissioner. The jail bond will be placed on the May ballot. Comments ( |
