Jerome Selects New Finance Director

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The city of Jerome has named their new Finance Director. Ross Hyatt will serve as the City’s Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He will also be responsible for financial oversight, the City’s budget, accounting, auditing and related financial operations. According to Zoe Monahan with the city, the applicants were narrowed to three candidates and two of the finalists accepted interviews. The City Council is scheduled to consider appointing Hyatt to the position of Treasure on April 29.
Hyatt has previously served as the City’s Finance Director/ Treasurer from August 2009 – March 2013. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Utah State University and he is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Hyatt stated “I’m happy to be back with the City of Jerome and am looking forward to working with the Mayor, Council, and City Staff. I believe the citizens demand and deserve a government that is transparent with the public funds entrusted to it. I hope to improve that transparency through the budget process, budget and financial document compilation for public review, and general financial advisement. I’m also looking forward to assisting the Mayor and City Administrator in finding efficiencies in current City operations as well as planning for a future that strikes the right balance between citizen needs and City services.”
