Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The 2014 campaign trail stopped in Jerome Saturday.

Candidates running for office around Idaho spent some time visiting with the public at the Jerome Senior Center.

Each candidate had two minutes to address the audience.

We caught up with Governor "Butch" Otter, who is seeking a third term and Dale Ewersen, the Region 5 Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party, is running for state senate.

"This is a chance for us to get to know the people and answer questions, you will see we'll be answering questions from the podium up there," explains Otter.

Ewersen adds, "well at today's event it's good to mix with the republican officials the citizens in Jerome and so forth, and it's always a pleasure to see the constitutional officers."

Otter is running against State Senator Russ Fulcher for the Republican nomination.

The May Primary will be held on May 20th.
