'Joggin For Your Noggin' Raises Awareness Of Concussions
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) A high school student who had to give up volleyball because of several concussions wants to let you know how serious they are.
Canyon Ridge High School senior Henley Blick is raising money for a scholarship fund that would pay for impact testing for high school athletes. The test is given before a sports season begins, and provides a baseline for the students' brain condition. She's holding a 5K "Joggin' for Your Noggin'" fun run in Twin Falls this Saturday morning to raise money for students who can't afford the testing.
Blick says, "It's going to be at Elevation 486. We're going to run along the canyon trail. Then we're going to turn around at the Visitor Center, come back to Elevation, and have lunch served by Elevation."
Blick says the entry fee is $30, but a student ID will drop the price to $20. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, and the run will start at ten o'clock. For more information, you can call 421-2570 or 329-4747.
