KMVT Reporter Flying High With Blue Angels
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Brittany Cooper soars the skies with the Navy Blue Angels...
Monday, July 23rd 2012 marks a major occasion for this reporter as I embark on a FA 18 hornet for the very first time. But it all began with a briefing as flight attendant Julie Davidovich, high school principal Aaron Maybon and I carefully listened to prepare for our upcoming flight. Davidovich adds, "this is a dream; to fly with the Navy Blue Angels and be in a fighter jet is absolutely my dream." “I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie, love this kind of stuff so it was a no brainer for me to jump on board when this opportunity was offered to me,” adds Maybon. Maybon told us he needed to lose about 100 pounds in order to meet the weight limit. "I went to my doctor and say hey I need to drop off 100 pounds is this safe to do? Is this doable and he said go for it so yeah, six months later I weighed 233 and made my goal." I led the team by going first and at the same time, testing my fear of heights. This is all or nothing, we are now in the cockpit of the FA 18 Hornet provided by the Blue Angels and my pilot Lt. Mark Tedrow." Comments ( Most Viewed |
