Keep Mail Carriers Safe By Clearing Sidewalks

By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV/KTWT-TV) With freezing temperatures for much of the valley, conditions on the sidewalk could be dangerous for mail carriers.

The Twin Falls Post Office reminds the public to keep a clear path to your mailbox.

Postal customers who receive door mail delivery should keep sidewalks, steps, and access ways clear of snow and ice.

Customers receiving street–side mailbox or centralized cluster neighborhood mailbox delivery should keep a safe and clear pathway to their mailbox.

Officials say letter carriers must consider safety and accessibility first.
They are instructed to refrain from delivering to locations they deem too hazardous.
