Keeping Safe In The Water This Summer

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) In light of Sunday’s drowning incident at Dierkes Lake, the city would like to remind people to stay safe this summer.

There are currently no lifeguards on duty.

The city will provide lifeguard service beginning on June 14th, with an additional person on duty this year.

City Spokesperson for Twin Falls, Josh Palmer, explains how more people in the area are increasing the need for patrol…

"As our population is growing and we're using that area, we're seeing a higher number of visitors in that area, but a lot of these incidents can be prevented by following the rules really that are out at the lake."

The city would also like to remind visitors that alcohol is prohibited at the lake.
