Ketchum, other cities to join insurance pool
KETCHUM, ID (KMVT) Countless companies across the US have managed to save millions of dollars by insuring themselves. Now almost 40 cities in Idaho are teaming up to beat the cost of rising insurance premiums.
Gary Marks, Chairman with III-A Trust, says, "It's a very attractive option as far as healthcare benefits go. Through those 39 cities and one special district we have about 800 employees, and with dependents it's about 2400 lives." Marks says they're waiting for the Idaho Department of Insurance to approve their applications. If all goes well, they hope to officially open the pool on March first. Marks says Idaho taxpayers could see a savings of millions of dollars, thanks to the new insurance pool. Feb. 2, 2012. Comments ( |
