Kimberly Attempts To Raise Major Dollars For Gym Renovation Project

By KMVT Staff

Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Kimberly is trying to finish a project that started during the Great Depression.

The iconic L A Thomas Gymnasium-Auditorium happens to be the district's most utilized building.

The cost of the renovations reach approximately $800,000.

Some of the projects include replacing the windows, upgrading the bathrooms and heating system.

The school district was already awarded a $32,000 grant from the Seagraves Family Foundation. And on Saturday night, the community tried to match that donation, by holding an auction and dinner.

"It was built during WWII and now our goal is to keep its historical integrity while being able to use it as an auditorium and a gymnasium," adds Superintendent Luke Schroeder, Kimberly School District.

If you would like to help, you can make checks payable to the Kimberly School Foundation.

Please put the L.A. Thomas Gymnasium Project in the note. All donations are tax deductible.
