Kimberly Speech & Debate Team Holds Potato Fundraiser
Kimberly, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Kimberly speech and debate team gathered Saturday for a fundraiser to send a few representatives to compete Nationally.
They were busy selling boxes of hash browns and fries donated by McCains Foods.
Many who purchased the potatoes actually donated them to others in need.
Last year was the first time the team had qualifiers go to Nationals and the team continued the tradition this year.
Kimberly High Speech & Debate Teacher Julie Underwood says, "This year we qualified 2 students again for the tournament and it's in Birmingham, Alabama in June. And so in order to send our 2 students and myself to go compete, it cost quite a bit of money."
The students will be competing in Congressional Debate.
This is the first time they've qualified in that category...
So they've been spending plenty of time learning it for the upcoming competition.
If you would like to help with a donation...
