BURLEY, Idaho (AP) _ A 27-year-old Kimberly man has reached a
plea agreement in a fatal SUV crash.
Christopher E. Blair pleaded guilty Thursday to felony vehicular
manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and misdemeanor
driving under the influence. The plea agreement calls for him to
serve up to 13 years in prison, with parole eligibility after five.
Fifth District Judge Michael Crabtree scheduled sentencing for
Sept. 14. Blair remains jailed on $50,000 bail.
Blair was charged after a March 11 crash that killed 24-year-old
Kristy Ann Staley of Twin Falls.
Court records say Blair was drunk and driving 55 mph in a 35 mph
zone when he lost control of Staley's Jeep. It rolled onto its side
and lodged against a tree. Staley was pinned between the tree and
the Jeep and died at the scene.
