UPDATED INFORMATION 11:50am: Six homes are being threatened by fire. Structure support is being provided by the Castleford Rural Fire Department

Castleford, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Wildfire that’s burning out of control 8 miles southwest of Castleford has consumed 150,000 acres so far and according to officials is only 25% contained. As of 10am this morning, 204 BLM Personnel are battling the blaze that’s burning grass and sagebrush. The fire started by lightning started about 3:50pm Saturday, July 7. Structure protection was requested early on by the Castleford Fire department but KMVT news has no reports of any damage to homes at this time and there have been no orders of evacuation. The only injury reported last night was heat related. The person was taken to St. Luke’s in Twin Falls for treatment. At this time, the BLM has 2 Heavy Engine Air Tankers, 3 Helicopters, 1 Lead Plane, 2 Air Attack, and 4 Single Engine Air Tankers (S.E.A.T.'s). Air support was back up Sunday morning and remained on the fire most of the day, taking only a short break during the thunderstorm activity. Temporary flight restrictions are in order over the fire area. The fire has burned a vast amount of BLM, Idaho Department of Lands, and private property in Twin Falls and Owyhee counties. With major growth from the wind and high growth potential an order was placed for a Type II Team to take over the operations of the fire. They will arrive at 2:00 p.m. today and will bring a lot of experience to the fire having worked on large wildland fires across the nation. It is expected that there will be approximately 275 total personnel on the fire after the team arrives.
