TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT) LMS Defense, which means "Last Man Standing," has big plans for Twin Falls.

Those include providing world class training for law enforcement officers at a very low cost. To do that, they need to nail down a location to build in Twin Falls County. Right now they have two possibilities.

John Chapman, President and CEO of LMS Defense, says, "We need several live fire ranges, long range and short range. We also need a place to build our simunitions house, which is a large six story building made of concrete that we can configure on the inside. That requires quite a bit of space, both for approaches and for the building itself."

Chapman says LMS Defense also needs room for obstacle courses outside the building. As law enforcement agencies begin sending their officers for training here, we'll see the beginnings of the financial impact locally.

Don Hall, Director of the College of Southern Idaho's Law Enforcement Program, says, "Right off the bat, they're going to be getting motel rooms, they're going to be eating at our restaurants, they're going to be fueling their cars here, they're going to be renting cars."

Chapman says he's already received 400 resumes from all over the US. He says they'll choose their instructors next month, and begin their three month training process. LMS hopes to officially open its doors by July or August. For more information, visit lmsdefense.com and click on "Contact Us."

In the meantime, Twin Falls County will be hammering out the necessary details on LMS' location.

Tom Carter, Twin Falls County Sheriff, says, "The final decision will fall to the county commissioners on where it goes and what is spent."
