A unified presence at the Idaho Nevada border took place Thursday morning.

Officers from Idaho, Nevada, and Utah, gathered to discuss a message.

One team borderless enforcement.

"It is speaking to the crackdown on impaired driving and the fact it doesn't matter what city, what county, what state you drive through. If you're impaired and you're driving you are going to be arrested” said Lt. Kevin Haight, Idaho State Police.

The concept is being encouraged by the national highway traffic safety administration.

"We are taking this serious here in Southern Idaho, Northern Nevada, and Northern Utah" said Lt. Kevin Haight, Idaho State Police.

Major enforcement will take place June 29th and 30th in hopes to cut down fatalities.

"Whether it be alcohol or drugs, prescription drugs, or elitist drugs, whatever the case maybe” said Lt. Kevin Haight, Idaho State Police.

ISP’s main goal is to have safer highways in Idaho.

"It's such a simple thing that doesn't have to happen, if you have been having a goodtime at a party or whatever just don't drive” said Lt. Kevin Haight, Idaho State Police.

A warning to think twice before you get behind the wheel after drinking, because otherwise you may see those flashing lights in your rearview mirror.

In 2010 there were more than 15,000 impaired driving crashes in the state of Idaho.
