Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-KTWT) A 38 million dollar sewer bond that was passed by Twin Falls voters, construction of a larger sewer tank is taking place this year.
Currently the capacity of the tank is 9.6 million gallons.
By June of 2015, the tank will hold 13 million gallons of sewer water...then by December the project will be complete holding 16 million gallons.
They are 60% of the way finished with the plans. The plan cost $32 million.
Troy Vitek, Assistant City Engineer thinks that it could potentially boost economic development.
"Saw this as an opportunity and they voted in favor of this bond which allows us to increase capacity at the treatment plant, so this could provide additional opportunities for economic development in the future as well as our local economy."
Along with the new tank they are also putting in new sewer pipes.
The project is expected to be complete December of 2015.
