Law Enforcement Beards, Goatees Raise Money For Cancer Patient
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Some men will find any excuse to grow a beard. Cold weather is one of the most common ones. And police officers are usually always clean shaven.
But Twin Falls County Sheriff's employees are signing up to grow beards and goatees. It's all part of an effort to raise money to benefit a local cancer patient.
Twin Falls County Sheriff Tom Carter says, "It's working out great. From the middle of October until January 31st, you can grow as big a goatee as you want, well, to a point. Robert's kind of the beard police around here."
Carter says for $20, ladies can wear either a pink cancer awareness pin, or a pink hat. He says men have to donate $20 to grow a goatee, or $30 for a beard. Carter says about 30 people are participating, and they've raised over $600 to benefit a boy from Dietrich.
