Lending A Helping Hand

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) This holiday season, the UPS store in Twin Falls is giving back to the community in a unique way.

All this month when you ship from the UPS store, the box you ship in will only cost you one dollar.

That dollar is then being put into an account that will go to help out members of 116th Calvary Brigade out of the Magic Valley.

When these soldiers returned from Iraq, some found out that adjusting back to civilian life was a little more difficult than they thought.

And that's where the UPS Store came into play.

"We've raised approximately 2,100 dollars, which we have already given 1,400 dollars in 50 dollar gift cards to the armory. And the remainder we'll do after Christmas and they will be able to distribute them as they see fit." Said Charles Reigh, owner of the Twin Falls UPS Store.

All of the money raised will go help these vets pay for daily essentials like home bills and groceries.

And even though it might be too late to ship off your holiday gifts on time, you can still donate to the 116th, at the UPS Store on Blue Lakes, up until the end of the year.
