Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Did you ever wonder what crimes people were put in jail for 100 years ago?
A Twin Falls Public Library employee did some searching, and found about 30 years of twin falls police records beginning in 1909. She was also able to dig up court records for several unlikely cases.
Outreach Librarian Beth Swenson says, "I saw a lot of people being brought in for being drunk and disorderly, a lot of cases involving prostitutes, houses of ill fame as they called them. And a lot of moving violations, speeding. One guy was even taken in for riding his horse too fast through the streets."
Swenson says other early crimes in Twin Falls included hitching your horse to a shade tree, passing alcohol to prisoners in jail, and letting a female dog in heat run free all over town.
