Librarian Logs 45 Years On The Job

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) You've probably had a job for five, ten, maybe fifteen years. But since the first of this month, a local woman has worked at the Twin Falls Public Library for 45 years.

In that time, Mareda Wright has done everything from drive the library's bookmobile, to catalog the items that come into the library. And she says she continues to enjoy the challenges she has every day.

Wright says, "I really didn't expect to be here this long. I had other plans that didn't go through. But I loved what I did. And I still love it, although it's evolved and changed, I still love what I do."

Wright says she's not ready to retire yet. In fact, she wants to finish cataloging the Idaho and Pacific Northwest Room. And she's looking forward to setting up and scheduling the library's new bookmobile, which she hopes will be running by early next summer at the latest.
