Lifting Women To Better Health

Burley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A new class in burley is showing a few local women that it's never to late to start lifting weights.

The program is sponsored by the University of Idaho’s Cassia County Extension Office.

It helps to promote health and better living for women over the age of 45.

The class is called "Lifting Women to Better Health."

It's designed for beginner weight lifters who want to learn the proper techniques to ensure safety.

The goal of the weekly class is to help women over the age of 45 to become more independent.

“this is a program that helps women 45 and older to learn the correct way to lift weights, hand weights and leg weights, to help them build bone density and increase strength and to also lose weight as well.” Said extension educator Grace Wittman

The class happens every Tuesday and Thursday until the first of November.

It costs $15 per person.
