Lightning Strike Near Freeway In Jerome County Ignites Grass And Sagebrush
Jerome County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Lightning sparked a brush fire in Jerome County Friday evening.
The Interstate–84 Milepost 177 fire started around five o'clock, just north of the interstate. The 1,000 acre blaze ignited sagebrush and grass on Bureau of Land Management land. No personal property or structures fell victim to the flames. Jerome Rural Fire Department, First Segregation and Bureau of Land Management crews are working on this fire. They hope to have it contained by Friday at 11 p.m. and controlled by Saturday evening at six. ORIGINAL STORY: Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Another lightning strike has started a fire in Jerome county. The strike around 5pm today has ignited sagebrush and grass near milepost 179 on Interstate 84. At this time traffic is flowing and KMVT news knows of no personal property or structures that have been burned.
