Shoshone, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Summer's only a month old, but it's already time for fair season in southern Idaho.

The Lincoln County Fair in Shoshone opened up on Saturday with their junior rodeo. They held their horse show Monday, and Tuesday you can see the open dairy show and open barrel racing, as well.

Fair Board Member Denise Helsley says, "Lost N Lava's going to have a little family fun night. They're going to have the Saddle Mountain Band here. They're going to have a dance, a lot of things for the kids and everything."

Chicken races will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., with pig wrestling that evening at 7:00 o'clock. The best news of all? Admission to the fair in Shoshone is absolutely free.

Helsey says, "We'll start Wednesday with the showing of all the animals. We'll have the sheep show on Wednesday, then Thursday the swine show, and then Friday will be the beef and dairy show."

Helsley says the rodeo will be held Thursday and Friday nights. Rodeo admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for kids age 12 and under. She says the market animal sale will be Saturday morning at eleven o'clock.

Helsley says, "Friday night we'll have the ranch rodeo, that ought to be a really big night. We've got a lot of contestants, it should be a lot of fun."

The Lincoln County Fair in Shoshone will wrap up next Sunday evening July 29th with a tractor pull at 5:00 p.m.
