Local Area Banning Wild Circus Animals
Ketchum, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Legislation will soon be adopted banning wild animals in traveling circuses from participating in central Idaho.
The Ketchum City Council and Blaine County Commissioners voted unanimously to proceed on this ban.
There was a first reading at the City Council meeting on the 21st and a second reading is scheduled for May 5th.
City officials expect it to be adopted on the 19th.
Students from Sage School provided evidence to support the ordinance.
This includes animal abuse, public safety issues and economic data.
