Local Businesses Benefit From The Fair

Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Twin Falls County Fair brings thousands of people to the City of Filer.

They come from places across the nation and in the magic valley.

All those extra people, benefit business owners in the area.

Car after car, traffic is heavier than normal, which is a good sign for business owners.

"It makes quite a bit of difference you have anywhere from 85,000 to 95,000 thousand people who pass through here in six days,” said Mayor Bob Templeman.

For the owner of the curry country store, business always gets busier during this time.

"We normally see a 20% increase in sales, we see a lot of newer people and a lot of people we haven't met yet,” said Dan Nickel, Owner Curry Country Store.

Veann Jacobsen is the owner of espresso heaven.

During this week, the customer flow at the coffee shop is higher than ever before.

"It picks up; sometimes they are waiting for me in the morning,” said Veann Jacobsen.

Business owners see a 20% to 50% increase in sales when the fair is in town.

"A lot more people pass through and a lot more money spent here,” said Templeman.

More money that goes back into the local economy and for each of these businesses, into their pocket.
