Local Doctor Going To The Philippines
Bellevue, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A local ER doctor is headed to the Philippines Wednesday and in January to provide care in rural hospitals.
Doctor Tom Sanderson is going with Global Health Relief, a Tennessee-based organization.
The Bellevue resident says they're trying to set up and use a system so they can take and transmit video from the Philippines.
"To help the people who are injured and needing help after this disaster of the typhoon, which is the fourth largest typhoon in history," Sanderson explains.
More than 10 million people in the Philippines were impacted by Typhoon Haiyan.
That's according to recent information from the country's government.
The latest death toll is 55-hundred.
