By Andrew Reed

Rupert, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Minidoka Memorial Hospital hosted a first responder training for Idaho emergency services.

The hospital invited a national expert to review disaster planning and how to be prepared.

Hospital officials said when a disaster strikes medical areas are one of the only places with power and food.

“We have people hear from as far away as Rexburg, we have a lot of local emergency first responders and we have a lot of private businesses here that want to know what their part is during a disaster."

Rogers says, it's important to plan ahead for a national disaster.
