Local Farm Fights Nature With Nature

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A Twin Falls farm took steps Wednesday night with the help of volunteers to fight pests and disease naturally.

Tubbs Berry Farm released over 72,000 ladybugs, 30,000 parasitic wasps and other insects throughout its crops.

Co-owner Kirk Tubbs says they take a look at what pests are causing problems for the year and tailor the process to whatever they need.

"Its just using nature to fight nature and understanding the biology. Things like ladybugs will eat aphids so we're able to put them on plants that are being attacked by aphids and they do the work for us," Tubbs adds.

Wednesday’s event was just one of the steps Tubbs Berry Farm uses to keep the plants health and combat pests and disease.
