Local H.S. Has National Merit Scholarship Finalist
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) For the first time in its history a local high school has a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.
And, that honor goes to Zerina Mehic.
She's a senior this year at Canyon Ridge High School.
Mehic scored 2070 on her SAT last spring.
Then this summer she received a letter informing her she was a finalist for the prestigious scholarship program.
"I'm just really happy about it. And, I know that with high test scores it will help me get into college and help me get scholarships for school," said Zerina Mehic, Canyon Ridge High School Senior.
Mehic moved to America from Bosnia with her parents when she was 2–years old.
She hopes to attend Washington State University next year, majoring in Animal Science.
