Local Superintendents Meet With State Representatives

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Magic Valley superintendents met with local legislators.

To discuses education issues that will be brought up during the 2013 legislative session.

School officials believe it's important to bring state legislators and educators together to understand the challenges schools are facing.

"Primarily there are school funding issues, but there are a lot of issues surrounding state core standards and there are a lot of challenges that are associated with that because it's going to require curriculum change, so we have a number of things that are a concern to us” said Dr. Gaylen Smyer Superintendent, Cassia School District.

Local superintendents say, the budget is the top priority for school districts this legislative session.
