Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) When Twin Falls County sold Magic Valley Regional Medical Center to St. Luke's, they set up a trust so they could hand out money to local nonprofit organizations.

Today the "Twin Falls Health Initiatives Trust" gave grants to 13 local organizations, including the Mustard Tree Wellness Center, the County Treatment and Recovery Clinic, and South Central Community Action Partnership. The Twin Falls Lions Club was given $14,000 to purchase two new eye screening machines.

Terry McCurdy, President of the Twin Falls Health Initiatives Trust, says, "We have the privilege of awarding over $300,000 in grants to nonprofits in the professional and medical field, and we're just excited to give away the money this year to provide health and medical in our community."

Victory Home was awarded $30,000 to help with their addiction treatment program. The Twin Falls County Safe House got the same amount for their crisis shelter, while the Status Offender program was awarded just under $15,000 to help juvenile offenders work through their problems.
