TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - A local organization has been helping immigrants legally move to the Magic Valley and find success for over two decades.

For 22–year old Jesica Orozco, immigration is an emotional topic.

"It's just really hard to think of this as your home and you know everybody else wants you out," said Orozco, immigrated to Twin Falls.

Orozco migrated to the Magic Valley with her parents and her brother when she was just 6–years old. Her family is one of many that have moved here legally with help from the staff of La Posada in Twin Falls.

"I mean I really don't remember anything about back home. So, pretty much this is my home you know. And, I'm sorry I'm getting really emotional,” said Orozco.

Sister Rosie has been helping families like the Orozcos move to the Magic Valley for over twenty years.

"Well, when you start the process you help one and then when they're here or the family then they have the right to petition for someone else to come," said Sister Rosie, La Posada.

It's a process that she describes as becoming increasingly difficult.

One of the biggest problems...

"I would say money because now the applications are quite expensive," said Sister Rosie.

For immigrants, both legal and illegal, the current political climate has created feelings of isolation.

"I think over the past maybe 3 years is when I've really noticed a big difference in the political issues and I just feel like it's not fair to the kids that were brought here when they were very young because you didn't really have a choice," said Orozco.

Many Americans agree that something needs to change.

"What about the children who are brought here. This is called a Dream Act. Let's let them get their papers," said Sister Rosie.

But, for many in this country, the pursuit of that American dream remains in the hands of lawmakers.
