Local Residents React To State Of The Union Speech

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV /KTWT-TV ) Residents across the Magic Valley tuned in to watch the President Obama’s state of the union speech Tuesday night. Although the president covered several issues during his speech, gun control and the economy were the hot issues that really got people talking. We spoke with twin falls residents and asked what they want to see from the president during the next four years.

"Because everything he said on there was not true. Most of the things he advocated are not true. He tells us about how he's cut the deficit and hasn't cut the deficit. He's increased the debt. And particularly on guns, he’s approaching it from the wrong angle," said Carl Norman, a Twin Falls Resident.

“Spending, getting the government spending down, getting Medicare taken care of, social security, those types of things," said Michelle Streeter, a Twin Falls Resident.

Senator Mike Crapo told his constituents that he hopes the president and congress work on fiscal reform and economic growth.
