Local School Observes Pi Day

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) What started out as an idea by a math teacher to get her students excited about math, has turned into a school wide celebration of "Pi" at Xavier Charter School.

We're not talking about the tasty treat but the mathematical constant, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, approximately equal to 3.14.

Xavier Charter celebrates Pi through various contests, like a pie eating contest and reciting out the numerical decimal placements of Pi.

For a second year in a row, Ryan Neudorff was the Pi master, reciting out over 300 decimal places.
