Local Teacher Acknowledged At Ceremony

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Teachers in the Twin Falls School District were welcomed back with a ceremony Wednesday.

It included a raffle and guest speakers.

One Twin Falls teacher received special recognition at the ceremony.

Peggy Hoy was acknowledged for her new position teaching Common Core math online with the National Education Association, in partnership with Great Public Schools.

As part of her new position, Hoy was able to travel to Washington, D.C. in April, and Denver, Colorado in July.

She will assist in helping other teachers find and use resources specializing in Common Core math.

"It's just been a really great experience just to work with teachers across the nation, and I appreciate that the Twin Falls School District acknowledges the work that the National Education Association and our own state affiliate, the Idaho Education Association, does," Hoy says.

The Twin Falls School District goes back to school this Monday, August 25th.
