Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A local woman celebrated a momentous occasion Wednesday afternoon by blowing out her birthday candles for the 101st time.
Freeda Ihler was born in Filer 101 years ago.
Her life was spent dedicated to working the farm and traveling.
As for what it was that helped her through over a century of life?
"Being an old country girl and working hard is all I can say," she says.
To help commemorate her big day, even the Mayor of Twin Falls came and joined the party.
During the celebration, the mayor presented a special plaque to Freeda thanking her for being a long time and dedicated resident of the Magic Valley.
