Locals With Disabilities Address State Leaders And Candidates
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Locals with the disabilities had the chance to speak with representatives and candidates running for office.
The Magic Valley Chapter of the Consortium for Idahoans with Disabilities is in its first year.
And with elections just around the corner, Saturday's barbecue offers those with disabilities a chance to speak with these elected officials and candidates.
Plus, certain healthcare issues are coming up in the legislative session and they want to address them early.
Becky Novak, an organizer says, "we have a lot of concerns coming up in the legislature that has to do with Medicaid, Medicare and the funding that's out there."
The group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30. Their meetings are held at the Center of Independent Living in Twin Falls.
