Looking To Work In The Dairy Industry?

By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) In 2011, the College of Southern Idaho approached the dairy industry to determine what training might be needed to help students and future diary workers, now the college is kicking off a dairy training program.

The college now provides on-site practical training at Southern Idaho dairies for improving consistency and quality of assurance.

"Those students who went though that training had basically eight hours of classroom training and then a half day of practical training at the dairy and then if they completed the different skills, they were award a certificate of completion by the College of Southern Idaho” said Terry Patterson Instructional Dean, CSI.

The collaboration between CSI and the dairies results in employees and employers willing to invest time and energy in self-improvement.

"We got a workforce out there and an industry that wants to be proactive and promoting education and the training piece for the employees. We have employees that are interesting in doing a better job. So I think that's a good combination for the college to be involved with” said Patterson.

A program that benefits students and dairy companies to achieve success.

If you are interested in registering for the dairy training program.

The college is looking to offer a course in March.
