By Ben Lyda

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Colonel Oliver North, a war veteran and bestselling author spoke this evening in Burley.
Colonel North met with the public and signed autographs to help raise money for a local scholarship.
The Sergeant Chris J. Workman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the family and friends of Sergeant Workman in his memory.
The goal of the fund is to assist deserving high school seniors in their first year of college in the visual arts.
Colonel North shares with us his feelings of the importance of this scholarship.
"A scholarship as far as I'm concerned is more valuable than a stone monument or a building named after you. It's the kind if thing that lasts literally for generations and the youngsters come to know that they are benefiting from the heroism of someone from their own community."
