Macy's Santa Announces 'Make A Wish' Recipient

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Our parents told us when we were kids, "You'd better be good, because Santa Claus is coming to town."

These days Santa is leaving the sleigh behind and taking a tour bus. The jolly old elf came in person to bring joy and smiles to the Macy's store in the Magic Valley Mall today.

Santa brought a special message to 17 year old Matthew Vito. Santa told Matthew and four of his family members that they were all going on a cruise to Jamaica, Haiti, and Mexico, thanks to Make-A-Wish and Glanbia Foods.

Vito says, "When I was 15, I was diagnosed with ALL, which is acute lymphoblastic leukemia. And I've been battling with that for almost two years now."

Vito wanted to thank Macy's and Glanbia for making their trip possible. You may already know for every letter a child writes to Santa and puts in his mailbox at Macy's, the company will donate one dollar, up to a million dollars, to Make-A-Wish.
