Magic Mountain Expanding in the Future
Magic Mountain, Idaho (KMVT-TV/KTWT-TV) - Many Americans are enjoying this New Year’s Day holiday with their families.
And then there are those who are a little more adventurous.
Welcome 2013 and along with it an adrenaline rush.
"I just really like how it's out back in the hills. You don't get phone service so you're here all day,” said Josh Young, Enjoying the day.
The season for the Magic Mountain Ski Resort is going well. They've seen four to five inches of snow over the last few days.
"Last year, we didn't get to open until the mid of January. It was really hard because the holidays are where you make money so if you don't do holidays; it's not really great for the whole year,” said Suzette Miller, Magic Mountain.
"Anytime we can open up before the Christmas break, that's very important to us,” said Gary Miller, Magic Mountain.
The ski resort offers everything from skiing and snowboarding to tubing.
"Our numbers have improved. Every year, we get more and more people coming, we've put a lot of work into it. We totally rebuilt a lift. We added the Magic Carpet. What drive us are the kids and the families,” said Miller.
There are more promises in store for the year as well.
The ski resort is looking to expand, adding more tubing lanes in the future, opening another ski run and adding on to the ski lodge.
All things to look forward to in the new year.
Magic Mountain Resort is closed Wednesday through Friday. It will re–open on Saturday.
