After receiving quite a bit of snow this week, Magic Mountain is enjoying its start to the 2012 – 2013 ski season.
Magic opened last Friday, December 21 and the crowds keep coming.
With three lifts and an 800 foot long tubing hill, there's fun for the entire family.
Owner Gary Miller shares with us some of features you'll find at this southern idaho resort.
"The weather, you can't ask for a better deal, and you know, the way our mountains settle here you know, the wind is not an issue, usually because the mountains block it the way we lay, and so it's really been very nice. You know we've added the tubing hill which has been a great facility, we have a machine that will take you to the top of the hill, we've been running four years and we've never had an accident," adds Miller.
Rock Creek Road has been plowed and sanded, but remains snow packed, according to the Magic Mountain website.
After the holidays, the mountain will be open Thursday through Sunday from nine a.m. to four p.m.
The chairlift, magic carpet ride as well as the tow up tubing lanes are all open. Children six and under ski for free.
