By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A Magic Valley resident had a life changing experience six years ago.

He went from working seventy to eighty hour weeks to almost living on the street.

"Working 24/7, I was really a workaholic; I was working all the time” said Randy Gifford, almost lost it all.

46-year old Randy Gifford is a single parent. For more than four years he spent his days milking cows on a farm in Shoshone working 12 to 14 hour days.

"I was really finically set. I thought I was making what I needed to make to survive” said Randy Gifford, almost lost it all.

He had saved up money for a new home and was living pleasantly.

Then his life changed in a flash of seconds while working on the farm.

"Milking cows out on the corral, I had a cow backup and crush me against the post. Took out my back” said Randy Gifford, almost lost it all.

Gifford's underwent back surgery and had no benefits through work.
At the same time raising a family and paying medical bills through workers comp.

"I had a few strokes after that, they said probably because of the surgery, blood clots, or whatever. That took me quite awhile to recover from. After so long I finally burned through all my resources” said Randy Gifford, almost lost it all.

The new home he was in the process of buying fell through.
"I just thought that I was going to bottom out” said Randy Gifford, almost lost it all.

Gifford was in the right place at the right time when he received a phone number for the valley house in twin falls.

One simple phone call changed randy Gifford's life forever.
