Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) A brand new organization had its very first meet together.

The Magic Valley Practical Shooting Association gathered at the Jerome Gun Club early Saturday morning.

The goals of the club are to promote gun safety and provide a location for those who like to shoot. The recent focus on guns in the country hasn't stopped people from signing up for the club.

"Ya know, honestly we haven't seen that. If anything, its actually brought more people to us, I think," adds Chris Ward, Magic Valley Practical Shooting Association.

Anyone who is interested can join the club. The Magic Valley Practical Shooting Association welcomes children to the elderly.

They want to remind everyone that it is never too early to learn gun safety. The first match today drew an estimated crowd of between 30 and 50 people.
