Magic Valley Refugee Day Coming Up

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) This Friday is the 5th Annual Magic Valley Refugee Day in Twin Falls.

The event will feature and highlight the many refugees that now call Twin Falls home.

The event will take place on Friday, June 20th at 6 pm.

It will be located behind the dorms on the College of Southern Idaho campus.

The event will have free ethnic food, cultural information, dancing, music and lots of fun for the entire family.

But this might be the last year for this unique experience, unless the funding is found for next year.

"It was provided by a grant by the government that lasted, I think, about 5 years and now the grant is ending. So we’re thinking of ways and trying to come up with different ways to raise funds for next year. Anything or anyone that has ideas or wants to donate, we’re accepting donations for that," explains Tara McFarland, CSI Refugee Program.

Again, the event will take place on Friday, June 20th, and will get underway at 6 pm.

If you would like to donate to the refugee day fund, you can send your donations to their office at 1526 Highland Avenue East in Twin Falls.

You can also contact Tara McFarland at 736-2166.
