Magic Valley Scouts Have New Leader

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Snake River Council of the Boy Scouts of America has a new Scout Executive.

Dave Kirk has been involved in scouting for 30 years. Half of those have been as a volunteer, and the other half have been as a professional. He says the goals of scouting are what they can do for local boys and how they can help their leaders be effective.

Scout Executive Dave Kirk says, “One, we want to make sure our program is safe. But what can he use for later on in life? We're building a boy into a man, and there's no other organization that does that better than the Boy Scouts of America.”

Kirk says the Boy Scouts have 5200 members in 450 to 500 units in South Central Idaho. He says the Snake River Council is responsible for the Scouting program in the eight counties of Magic Valley.
