Making The Connection With Seasonal Jobs
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Sometimes it's tougher than usual to find a job, and seasonal jobs are no exception. But employers are also finding it hard to connect with would-be employees.
A workshop by the Idaho Department of Labor showed business owners how to ramp up their hiring in time for their busiest seasonal jobs.
Brent Tolman from the Idaho Department of Labor says, "What the opportunities are, and the different seasons that exist in our community. We have other professional business service things that are seasonal in nature. And how can we create a seasonal workforce that can move from job to job?"
Employers also need to point out the difference between full time jobs that are permanent and other jobs that are merely seasonal. In our area, that includes jobs in agriculture, food processing, and insurance services.
